Benefits of kindermusic in young children

Today we know more about how children learn and grow than ever before. The benefits of kindermusic are endless and help prepare children for the tools that they will need to succeed in learning and hence preparation for going to school.

Kindermusic classes are designed for a small group of children ages 1 to 5, along with their parents to work together and create social interaction with other children and bonding with their caregivers. The 45 minute classes involve the use of notation, movement, puppets, games, songs, and instruments, and allows children to work as a team, learn how to share, take turns follow directions and instructions, and foster good listening skills.

Confidence, self –esteem, and courage is built over time as well as developing memory skills, body awareness coordination and fine motor skills. Kindermusic classes will allow children to express feelings, allows for a creative experience, build concentration, stimulate the brain and increase their desire to listen more, learn more, and know more. Speech and music have a number of shared processing systems, and hence impacts on learning to read. Music engages the brain, evokes, movement, stimulating neural pathways, and helps with the brain’s attention to patterns. Music builds phonological awareness through word play, rhymes and poems through speaking and singing, sound play through careful structured listening, and vocal play experienced by using the voice in singing or high/low patterns.

The kind of learning your child does in kindermusic classes engages the building blocks of language through active focused listening exercises and is the kind of learning that is specifically linked to success in school.
